An innovator in his field, Dr. D’Andrea is first to implement the latest methods of cancer treatment, such as IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) for head and neck, lung, prostate, breast and colorectal cancers. Stereotactic Radiosurgery is also used to treat primary brain cancer as well as spinal tumors, where unaffected tissues can be spared and side effects minimized. Sophisticated treatment planning systems utilize beam modifiers in combination with chemotherapy. Other state-of-the-art technologies also include the most advanced real time prostate implant system. Dr. D’Andrea holds numerous patents for inventing radiation therapy devises and has assisted in establishing comprehensive multi-specialty centers in Texas. Former president of the Harris County Medical Society’s Southeast Branch and former chief of the Department of Medicine at Columbia Bayshore Hospital, and fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology, Dr. D’Andrea hold multiple distinctions, including membership in the National Republican Congressional Business Advisory Council. Additionally, he served four years as a member of the Texas Medical Association Council on Scientific Affairs. He is also named in Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
